ASFASMTN's Appreciation Award Ceremony and State-Level Conference on “NIRF – to Improve Rankings”
ASFASMTN successfully hosted a Special Appreciation Award Ceremony and an exclusive One-Day State-Level Conference on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) on 15th October 2024 at G.V. Hall, Cosmopolitan Club, Coimbatore. The event recognized colleges from Tamil Nadu in the Top 100 of NIRF Rankings 2024 for their excellence in academics, research, and institutional development, inspiring others toward continuous improvement.
The award ceremony recognized institutions from Tamil Nadu that secured a position in the Top 100 of the NIRF Rankings 2024 for their achievements in academics, research, and institutional development, inspiring other institutions toward continuous improvement.
The event began with a welcome address by Dr. T. Sethupati, Secretary of ASFASMTN followed by the presidential address from Prof. Dr. Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan, President of ASFASMTN. He emphasized the importance of rankings in driving institutional excellence and congratulated the awardees.
The ceremony and conference was inaugurated by Dr. K. Ramasamy, Chancellor of Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, and Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. Both dignitaries highlighted the significance of rankings in promoting quality education and praised ASFASMTN’s efforts in advancing higher education.
The conference featured two key sessions:
Session 1: “NIRF Ranking – Compliance and Quality Enhancement Strategies,” by Dr. P. B. Harathi and Team, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women
Session 2: “NIRF Innovation Rankings – Methodology and Metrics,” by Dr. M. Siva Ramkumar, SNS College of Technology
A panel discussion followed, offering participants insights and practical strategies for improving rankings. The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony recognizing participants' contributions.
With 150 delegates from across Tamil Nadu, the event fostered collaboration, networking, and meaningful dialogue. Participants appreciated ASFASMTN’s initiative in supporting institutions on their journey to improve NIRF performance.

ASFASMTN’s - Run for Drug-Free Campus 2024:
The Association of Self-Financing Arts, Science & Management Colleges of Tamil Nadu (ASFASM) successfully organized the much-anticipated “Run for Drug-Free Campus 2024” on Saturday, 31st August 2024. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of leading a drug-free life while promoting physical fitness and unity within the community.
The 5-kilometer run was flagged off at 6:30 AM by Thiru. Kranthi Kumar Pati, I.A.S., District Collector, Coimbatore, in the presence of Thiru. R. Vetriselvan, Deputy Mayor, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, Prof. Dr. Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan, President - ASFASMTN, Thiru. T. Sethupati, Secretary - ASFASMTN, and Thiru. C.V. Ramkumar, EC Member - ASFASMTN. The run started from Government Arts College, Race Course, Coimbatore, and concluded at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Nava India, Coimbatore.
The event drew participants from all age groups, including students, faculty, and community members, all coming together to support the cause of fostering drug-free educational environments.
The run highlighted the collective effort of educational institutions and the wider community to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. It was a morning filled with energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the cause.

In addition to cash prizes, the top 50 participants were honored with medals, and all participants received e-certificates, T-shirts, and a hearty breakfast provided by Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science.

A One-Day Programme on "Promoting Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs)":
The Association of Self-Financing Arts, Science & Management Colleges of Tamil Nadu (ASFASM) organized a One-Day Programme on "Promoting Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs)" on November 30th, 2023. The event was held at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Avinashi Road, Peelamedu, Coimbatore.
The programme featured six insightful sessions, with eminent resource persons delivering expert guidance on best practices and strategies for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within educational institutions. The discussions focused on how to effectively channelize student and faculty innovation into successful startups, offering a comprehensive platform for participants to engage with contemporary challenges and opportunities in the field.
The event was attended by key representatives from HEIs across Tamil Nadu, including Secretaries, Principals, Vice Principals, Deans, Directors, ED/IIC, and Incubation Heads. With a maximum of three participants from each institution, the programme facilitated focused and impactful interactions.
We are pleased to share that the event was a resounding success, with participants gaining valuable insights and actionable strategies to enhance innovation and entrepreneurship at their respective institutions.
One-Day Faculty Development Workshop On "Gen Ai & Data Analytics For Higher Educational Institutions:
The Association of Self-Financing Arts, Science & Management Colleges of Tamil Nadu successfully conducted a one-day Faculty Development Workshop on "Gen AI & Data Analytics for Higher Educational Institutions" on January 5th, 2024, at Dr. SNS Rajalakshmi College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore.
Dr. Madhan Kumar Srinivasan, CEO of Wise Work, and Mr. Shivaram K.R., Co-Founder of Wise Work, served as the resource persons for the workshop. Their expert guidance provided participants with deep insights into the latest trends and practical applications of Generative AI and Data Analytics in education.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from educators across various institutions, who engaged in vibrant discussions and collaborative learning sessions. The workshop equipped faculty members with valuable knowledge and tools for integrating advanced technologies into their teaching and research practices.
ASFASMTN’s - Principal Welfare Cell Meeting:
The Principal Welfare Cell (PWC) of the Association of Self-Financing Arts, Science & Management Colleges of Tamil Nadu (ASFASM) organized a meeting on July 22nd, 2024, at 4:00 PM at The Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club, Race Course, Coimbatore.
The meeting brought together principals from various institutions, providing a valuable platform for discussing key issues related to their welfare and professional development in higher education. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions, shared best practices, and explored solutions to common challenges faced by educational institutions and students.

Meeting with the Chairman, State Education Policy - High Level Committee

The Office Beares and EC Members of ASFASMTN along with the Principals had a meeting with the Honble Justice Thiru. D. Murugesan - Chairman, State Education Policy-High Level Committee on 29.10.2022 at Circuit House, Coimbatore and submitted a Memorandum to the Chairman which includes the Suggestions and recommendations for the State Education Policy.
Prof.Dr.Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan - President-ASFASMTN, handed over the Memorandum to the Honble Justice Thiru. D. Murugesan - Chairman, State Education Policy-High Level Committee on behalf of the Association of Self-Financing Arts, Science and Management Colleges of Tamil Nadu.
The Office Beares and EC Members of ASFASMTN discussed various issues in Higher Education and gave their suggestions and recommendations for the upcoming State Education Policy.

Secretaries to the Syndicate of Bharathiar Unviersity, Coimbatore as per the
order G.O.(D) No.147 Dt:31.05.2022.
A Write Petition was filed in the honourable High Court of Madras by the Association of Self Financing Arts, Science and Management colleges of Tamil Nadu (ASFASMTN) for the inclusion of Secretaries in the Syndicate of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
Based on the honourable High Court order W.P.No.12478 of 2019, Dt.01.07.2019, the Government of Tamil Nadu passed the bill in the assembly which was assented by the Governor.
ASFASM Office Bearers expressed their gratitude to the Tamil Nadu Government for considering the long pending request by the colleges.

ASFASMTN supported candidates Mrs Bindu Ajeet in teacher category and Dr Nitiyanadam in general Category contested the syndicate elections in Bharathiar University on 10.1.2018. Mrs Bindu Ajeet from AJK College of Arts and a Science and Dr Nitiyanadam of Ramu College was declared elected by the returning officer.The elected members were given the notification by the Vice Chancellor Bharathiar University.

The 14th Annual General Body meeting of the Association of Self Financing Arts, Science and Management Colleges of Tamilnadu was conducted on 26th Aug 2017 at 6.00 pm in Cosmopolitan Club Coimbatore. The audited accounts for 2016-17 was unanimously passed. It was unanimously decided to conduct a One Day State Level Conference on Challenges in Higher Education for the Next Triennium on 25th November 2017 in Coimbatore. Life Time Achievement Awards for the Chairman and Secretaries, Outstanding Service Award for the Principal and Best Faculty Award in the respective disciplines will be also given. Mr A.M.M.Khallel President presented the Annual Report and Mr. Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan Secretary of the association welcomed the members.
